As you may already know, I\u2019m a huge Meg Cabot fan. So when I heard about the Meg-A Readers Blog Hop hosted by Romance Bookie<\/a> and Little Miss Drama Queen<\/a> I made sure I was on the list to participate. Little did I know that this would open up a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Because for my Meg-A Readers assignment I am thrilled to announce that I am interviewing one of my favorite Meg Cabot characters, the royal bestie to Her Royal Highness Princess Mia Renaldo Thermopolis, the one and only\u2026Tina Hakim Baba!<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop: Ms. Hakim Baba, welcome to my humble blog.<\/p>\n

Tina: Thank you so much! And please, call me Tina.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop: Tina, I\u2019m honored. As best friend to Princess Mia, you must be in the public eye a lot. How do you manage?<\/p>\n

Tina: Well, I do have a bodyguard, Wahim, who has been with me since high school, and he protects me from the paparazzi. And from stray maniacs who my father is convinced may kidnap me.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop: I see Wahim sitting in the corner over there. He\u2019s quite the looker.<\/p>\n

Tina: So I\u2019ve heard but I don\u2019t see Wahim like that.\u00a0 Never have.\u00a0 Besides, I only have eyes for my boyfriend, Boris.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop: Ah yes, Boris. What is he up to these days?<\/p>\n

Tina: Well after the release of his 5th album he got pretty bored with music so he\u2019s now studying law at Harvard.\u00a0 He wants to specialize in international law with a focus on Russia.\u00a0 He\u2019s so brilliant!\u00a0 In fact he\u2019s currently writing a paper exploring the issues of intellectual property laws in the post-Soviet space.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop:\u00a0 <yawn!>\u00a0 Excuse me Tina.\u00a0 If I could change the subject\u2026I have to ask…what is with this fascination you have with Kay\u2019s Jewelers?<\/p>\n

Tina: Hey don\u2019t knock Kay\u2019s Jewelers! Of all the jewelry retailers out there, Kay\u2019s is by far the most romantic. Have you seen some of their commercials? Tiffany\u2019s may have those sweet turquoise boxes, but Kay\u2019s supports romance and that\u2019s what giving jewelry is all about, romance!<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop: Were you disappointed when you found out that Boris bought your promise ring at Tiffany\u2019s?<\/p>\n

Tina: Well\u2026maybe just a little. But poor Boris couldn\u2019t help it. He was unfairly influenced by Lana who makes no secret that she thinks my attachment to Kay\u2019s is lame. And Boris presented the ring to me in such a romantic way I decided to let it slide this one time.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop: You do know a lot about romance Tina! One might say that you\u2019re an expert on the subject. Have you considered a future in\u2026say writing romance novels?<\/p>\n

Tina:\u00a0 Oh I couldn\u2019t.\u00a0 Writing a romance novel would be so hard<\/em>.\u00a0 I\u2019ll stick to reading them\u2026.and going to medical school of course.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop:\u00a0 What are you reading these days?<\/p>\n

Tina:\u00a0 I just finished Lawless<\/a>, a classic historical romance by Nora Roberts.\u00a0 Jake Redman was sooo hot and reminded me of Boris!\u00a0 That scene where he knife fights the Indian to save the kidnapped Sarah was just like the time when Boris pulled me and the Michael Kors tote I had my eye on, from the sales mob at Saks.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop:\u00a0 That Boris sure is a prize.\u00a0 Any other favorite authors?<\/p>\n

Tina:\u00a0 My new favorite is Meg Cabot.\u00a0 I found out about her after she wrote Mia\u2019s biography, so I decided to read some of her other biographies and I was really impressed!\u00a0 The books she wrote on Samantha Madison,<\/a> you know, the girl who saved the president\u2019s life? Those were fantastic! I always wondered what possessed that girl to share her sex life on VH1. And that expose on Nikki Howard<\/a> was amazing!\u00a0 Then I found out that Meg Cabot wrote Regency Romances under the pen name of Patricia Cabot<\/a> years ago!\u00a0 Most of those books are out of print now but I scour for old copies on eBay and used bookstores.\u00a0 They are fabulous!<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop:\u00a0 Do you read any of Meg Cabot\u2019s recent work?<\/p>\n

Tina:\u00a0 Absolutely!\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to get started on my copy of Underworld<\/em><\/a> and I\u2019m anxiously waiting for the release of Size 12 and Ready to Rock<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 My favorite will always be Mia\u2019s biography<\/a> though.\u00a0 I\u2019m not exactly sure how Ms. Cabot got a hold of Mia\u2019s diaries, even I<\/em> have never been privy to them.\u00a0 I think Mia\u2019s grandmother may have something to do with it but I guess it\u2019s OK since they did set the record straight after those extremely inaccurate (but very entertaining) movies about Mia\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop:\u00a0 Anne Hathaway is great and all but hello?\u00a0 Mia is a blond!\u00a0 And San Francisco???<\/p>\n

Tina:\u00a0 I know right?<\/p>\n

Lady Jessop:\u00a0 I see Wahim pointing to his watch over there.\u00a0 I think you may need to go.\u00a0 Thank you Tina for stopping by!<\/p>\n
