30 Days of Truth: Someone Who Drifted Out of Your Life

A lot of people have drifted out of my life.  Being somewhat of an introvert, I have a tendency to not stay in touch with people so the drifting is usually helped by my own lack of attention to many of my friends.   Luckily the important people in my life know this about me so eventually they drift back.

This post made me think of how many people have drifted out of my life and, also out of my not paying attention, they have remained out of my life. It reminded me that I should make the effort to reach out. I’m not sure if it’s an introvert thing. I think for me it’s a matter if not wanting to bother those people. “what if they don’t want to hear from me?”. Thanks for the reminder something to work on.

I also worry about bothering people and that keeps me from reaching out on my own. I especially feel this way about friends who have families. For what it’s worth, the times I do reach out to people on my own the conversations are always good. My overall belief is that if it’s a true friend you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off no matter how much time goes by.
